A journey that was to begin with organising energy needs assessment for a potential mini-grid in Mozambique, was transformed into a consultation with power sector stakeholders. A field visit to Maputo turned into an opportunity to conduct a Mini-grid training workshop (2019) amongst public sector stakeholders, private sector entities and academia. The event was organised through the Green People’s Energy Programme (BMZ, implemented by GIZ), Green Mini-grids helpdesk (AfDB) and Micro Energy International (Germany).
It takes colossal machinery to get policy moving towards sustainable objectives, especially in developing markets, driven largely by economics.
